      Writing is like confessing, except it is harder, more exposed, and almost never followed by absolution. When joined to the traditional practices of preaching, sacrament, and catechesis, the telling of a life helps shape Christian identity and discipleship. Christians were not the first to explore the significance of a single life. The son of a prebendary of Winchester, Robert Lowth was educated at New College (B.A. , Fellow , M.A. , Professor of Poetry at Oxford , D.D. by diploma, ).

    There are numerous surviving ancient Greek and Latin sources on Alexander the Great, king of Macedon, as well as some Asian five main surviving accounts are by Arrian, Plutarch, Diodorus Siculus, Quintus Curtius Rufus, and Justin. In addition to these five main sources, there is the Metz Epitome, an anonymous late Latin work that narrates Alexander's campaigns from Hyrcania to India.
